A
Mother's Tears

Mother if Officer Dewey Joseph Sherbo III,
who was killed in the line of duty on
November 9, 1997
The
tears of pain brought about his birth
Which turned to tears of joy.
Because, brought here upon this earth,
Was this little baby boy.
The
years went by and he did grow,
As boys are want to do.
Through trials and troubles, I saw him though,
Often, while saying I love you.
Then
away he went to travel around and about,
To see the world around him.
But, when in trouble, he would reach out,
I'd be there, thick or thin.
Again,
he left to search and search for his new love,
And, she was just the one.
Then the two children came from above,
He knew that he was done.
The
tears of joy, for his new life,
Have turned to tears of pain.
Now, it's me, his dad, his kids, his wife
Who wait to see him again.
They
say he's in a much, much better place,
One of peace and joy.
But, through my day I see his face,
Goodbye, my baby boy.
You're
gone and now I'll say goodbye,
I'll love you through my tears.
For now, my dear, you must know why
I'll love you all my years.
