"Come Home, Brave Knight"

With Permission, by A.C. Shelton

Come home, brave knight, for your battle
Is over, you've triumphed and won
You've defeated those who opposed you
Lay down thy shield and thy gun

Your victories shall be hailed by your brothers
Your deeds shall be spoken by all
Come stand by the side of your Father
Come reside within Heaven's walls

Come home, brave knight and stand by those
who, before you, answered the call
To wield the great sword of justice
And, like you, gave of their all

The ones whom you leave shall remember
How valiant an effort you gave
Your courage forever etched into
The hearts of the lives you have saved

Come home, brave knight, for you have earned
The privilege to rest heart and head
The right to surrender your burdens
Repose from the miles you have tread

Retire to this world which awaits you
Unlike any, before, you have known
Your comrades in arms, they salute you
Come home . . . brave knight . . . come home
